Legislation has been passed that gives Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) the authority to regulate the growing, processing, handling and brokering of hemp in Nebraska. Meaning, insurance agents are soon going to be faced with an emerging market, which will have very limited outlets for the placement of insurance.

IIAN is partnering with other Big "I" associations from around the country to offer our members an exclusive cannabis program, which allows them the ability to insure a variety of businesses and operations tied into the cannabis industry. This provides our members a competitive advantage in the simple fact they will have an option for these insureds when most insurance carriers will not provide coverage for entities involved with the growing, processing, or handling of cannabis-related products.
